Freel free to comment on how this works on your pda.
If you'd like to see this project grow then I urge you to make a contribution yourself. That's the way this will become really useful.

Browse some of the reviews, perhaps you'll find some interesting snippets of information useful for your next trip away.
And if your city isn't covered yet, perhaps on your return, you'll be inspired to write some reviews of your own to help those travellers that follow in your footsteps. Or you might want to make a contribution about your home city to inspire others to visit.
The countries and cities covered are constantly being added to so keep coming back for the latest files... you might be surprised at how much they will have grown.
History of these guides

I've set-up this project after having been inspired by the superb website by Patrice Bernard & Frank Van Caenegem (http://nanika.net/Metro/) which covers city transportation. Their site is basically a wikipedia of travel networks for specific cities (currently about 250 cities in the world) so I thought a similar website for collating travel tips would be appreciated as well.
Especially as those of us with some sort of PDA are always looking for new downloads - especially in the travel category. After all, that's why we bought hand held pc's - so we could take them travelling with us. So why carry a thick guide book around when you can download a guide onto a pocket device that you were going to take with you anyhow?
Originally I thought that virtualtourist.com already had this covered, But I became frustrated by the fact that it wasn't quite in the correct format and, above all, the non-moderated format means that there are reviews of restaurants without names or directions etc. so they aren't very informative at all. Also there are a lot of postings that seem to have no point at all or are completely off-topic. That website is good to surf and does have some useful information, but if you want to quickly download something that will be nicely indexed and have reviews that are of real use then perhaps you'll find what you're looking for here.
My aim is to continually update the initial file created by me with contributions from fellow-travellers.
Keep A Record of Your Travels

With the introduction of tomeraider 3, all the reviews can be filtered according to contributer (also available in the on-line version), so as you submit more reviews you'll have a record of your travels nicely indexed on the internet. Use this feature to keep handy information about places visited or direct your friends to your reviews.
Esperanto

To make this page really accessible to all, there is an Esperanto version available. Just click on the Esperanto flag in the top right corner...

Comments on this website are welcome at editor@pdaworldtravel.com
Last updated 2-Dec-2006.
